The Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC), which is designated as a National Environmental Study Area for its wetlands habitat and nature preserve, hosted its 2010 Green Gala at Terrace on the Park, honoring JetBlue Airways with the Corporate Friend of the Environment Award; Damon Hemmerdinger, ATCO Properties & Management with the Green Living Award; and Rita Sherman, APEC Board President, with the Green Leadership Award.
