COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Nina DeBlasio has served her community in numerous organizations and roles. Currently, she is the parent coordinator at P.S./M.S. 207, a Kiwanis Club advisor and a St. Helen’s religion education teacher. She has also worked with the Howard Beach Civic Association, the St. Helen’s 40th anniversary committee, the Parent’s Association of P.S./M.S. 207 and the 106th Precinct Community Council for implementation of community bicycles.
PERSONAL: DeBlasio was born in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn and moved to Howard Beach as a one year old. There, she met and married the love of her life, Peter. Together they still reside in Howard Beach along with their three daughters Christina, Deanna and Rosanna.
PROUDEST MOMENT: “Being a mom I can easily say my proudest moments are watching my daughters grow into beautiful young women achieving their goals.
I am also very proud of my husband in his career with the New York City Police Department.”
BIGGEST CHALLENGE: “My biggest challenge is reaching the goals I set for myself. I believe that one person can make a difference in someone’s life. I try every day to make that difference.”
FAVORITE MEMORY: “My favorite memory is growing up in a loving home with my parents Sal and Tina Laura along with my four older brothers. Being the princess certainly had its advantages.”
INSPIRATION: “God is my inspiration in my life. I ask for His guidance every day.”
