Teen threatened boy with metal spike: DA

CORONA — A 16-year-old Bellerose resident was arraigned Nov. 4 on charges of harassing and attempting to rob and a 12-year-old boy at 111th Street and 46th Avenue in Corona, said the Queens district attorney’s office.

He was charged with menacing, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon, the DA’s office said.

On Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m., Bryan Hernandez, of 102nd Street and 217th Place, blocked the boy’s exit from a public bathroom and told him to take everything out of his pockets, the DA’s office said.

When the boy said he had nothing, Hernandez pressed a gold metal spike against the boy’s stomach and said, “If you tell your family or the police about this, I will kill you,” according to the DA’s office.

A police officer later found the spike on the stoop of 104-13 45th Ave., the DA’s office said.
