‘Cops of the Month’ at 106th

During this holiday season, 106th Precinct Commanding Officer Captain Thomas Pascale addressed the community with regards to shopping safety.
Pascale indicated that the majority of Grand Larceny Auto thefts reported in the precinct involved keys left in the car. The captain also indicated as a tip that no belongings should be left in plain sight in a vehicle but if they must remain in your car, place items in a trunk or under the seat.
Along that vein, Pascale (right), along with Precinct Community Council president Frank Dardani (left) honored P.O. Jennifer Martinez and P.O. Andrew J. Spina as “Cops of the Month.”
On Tuesday, November 23, a female was loading packages into her Honda CRV while in the Aqueduct flea market parking area. During this time the vehicle’s keys were left in the car and it was subsequently stolen.
One week later, on Tuesday, November 30, Martinez and Spina noticed the vehicle traveling eastbound on Rockaway Boulevard at 127th Street. The officers pulled the car over and three teens – a 13-year-old and two 16-year-olds were taken into custody.
