Boro man steals charity box from eatery: Brown

JAMAICA — A Jamaica man pleaded guilty to criminal mischief after he admitted to stealing a charity box from a Sutphin Boulevard McDonald’s, a spokesman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Michael Doctor, 53, of 116-44 147th St. in Jamaica, told officers he stole the box because he was hungry, according to the criminal complaint.

An employee of the McDonald’s, at 90-67 Sutphin Blvd., followed Doctor to a nearby Dollar Store after he stole the charity box at around 2:15 p.m. March 21, the complaint said.

Doctor was arraigned March 22 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Elisa Koenderman, where he pleaded guilty to criminal mischief and sentenced to 90 days in jail, the spokeswoman said.
