FAR ROCKAWAY — A Far Rockaway woman was arraigned on assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment charges after she allegedly hit another woman with a Venetian blind wand, a spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Quanisha Jenkins, 23, of 71-15 Beach Chanel Drive in Far Rockaway, allegedly threatened the woman at a bus stop in front of her house between 7:09 p.m. and 7:13 p.m. March 22, saying, “Next time I see you, you’ll see what happens,” causing the other woman to run away, according to the criminal complaint.
Jenkins then allegedly struck the woman with a Venetian blind wand, causing swelling and welts to the left side of the woman’s face and a small cut under her nose, the complaint said.
Jenkins was arraigned March 23 before Queens Criminal Court Judge John Zoll, who released her on her own recognizance, a spokeswoman for Brown said.
Jenkins is next scheduled to appear in court April 6, the spokeswoman said.
