Being an old geezer with nothing better to do, I hereby decree Flushing the banking capital of Queens. On Main Street from Franklin Avenue to Northern Boulevard, a distance of about one-tenth of a mile there are exactly 19 banks in that designated area. Wait, there’s more! I counted the number of banks, located on Wall Street only, in Manhattan, and guess what that citadel of capitalism contains (gasp) a mere five banks. And so let us Flushingites rejoice in our triumph over that over-rated den of fiscal bedlam. No! I am not going say: “you can bank on it.” OOPS! Sorry about that chief.
