Temple power struggle results in violence

Infighting over a power struggle at a Queens Sikh temple resulted in violence yesterday, according to The New York Post.
The old faction that had been voted out of power was among the alleged attackers that arrived at Baba Makhan Shah Lobana Sikh Center in South Richmond Hill armed with a sword and cricket bats, the report says.
Police were stationed outside due to the threat of violence, but the attacks occurred inside the temple.
The two groups have been struggling over control of the temple for months, with the old faction taking the battle to the courts to challenge the election, according to the report.
Seven people were arrested, The Post reported. (Click here for the full story)
