What are your memories of the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium?

The former home of the U.S. Open, the West Side Tennis Stadium (formerly Forest Hills Tennis Stadium) has been denied landmark status by the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission. (Click here for the story)
Besides formerly holding one of tennis’ four Grand Slam events, the stadium played host to many of the day’s top music acts.
The Queens Courier wants to know what your memories are of the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium and what you think should be done with it. Should it be landmarked and ,if not, what should replace it?
