This young man of 25 [Ronald Hedrick of Lindenwood] has a very rare liver cancer. His family is in need of funds, and is seeking contributions in an attempt to keep him alive.
All the other industrial nations have single payer healthcare systems, which would provide this young man with any care required for his condition without impoverishing his family.
It’s a sad commentary that the U.S., a supposed caring and compassionate society would deny any of its citizens the wherewithal to preserve their lives without bankrupting their families,
As a society which claims to be caring and compassionate, we should illustrate it, not by our rhetoric, but by our actions.
