Cops seek man, 22, in killing of Queens teen

QUEENSBRIDGE — Police were on the lookout for a man suspected of killing a Woodside Houses teenager at Queensbridge Houses in early July.

Barrington Grant, 22, is the prime suspect in the shooting of Mark Torres, 19, police said. Torres was shot once in the head during the early morning hours of July 5 at 41-03 Vernon Blvd. at Queensbridge Houses, police said. Torres was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, where he died that afternoon, police said.

Torres, who lived at Woodside Houses, had been to Queensbridge for a barbecue, a friend told TimesLedger Newspapers shortly after the slaying. The murder was the third to occur at Queensbridge Houses this year.

Police described Grant as a black man standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 195 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, police said.
