New Year’s Slay on E. Wmbg. St.

A 34-year-old man was shot and killed on New Year’s Day on the streets of East Williamsburg, police sources reported.

According to the NYPD, police responded to a 1:47 p.m. call of a male shot at the corner of Seigel and Humboldt streets on Jan. 1, 2012.

Upon arrival, police found a 34- year-old male at the location with a gunshot wound to the head.

EMS personnel transported the victim, identified by police as Shannon McKinney, to nearby Woodhull Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to police, the shooting stemmed from a verbal dispute between McKinney and the shooter.

No arrests have been made as of press time, and the investigation is ongoing.
