Queens widow blames NYPD for hubby’s death in $10M lawsuit
A Queens widow claims in a whopping $10 million lawsuit that her husband of 52 years died of a heart attack because two NYPD officers made him walk home in the snow to get her identification. Doris Hudson, 73 of Queens Village, was driving with her husband, Robert as a passenger on January 14, 2011 when she was pulled over by Officers Dominick Lettieri and Julio Orozco for not wearing a seatbelt. Beyoncé and Jay-Z leave hospital with Blue Ivy
Beyoncé and her baby have finally bounced from the hospital. Three days after giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter, the singer and her husband Jay-Z left Lenox Hill Hospital. A hospital spokeswoman confirmed that the couple checked out early this morning. The couple is believed to have left the hospital in an SUV with tinted windows at 1:30 a.m. The SUV was part of an elaborate procession of cars that were spotted outside E. 76th Street. TSA workers sentenced to 6 months for stealing $40K from luggage
Two TSA workers who pleaded guilty to stealing $40,000 from a drug mule’s luggage were each sentenced to six months in prison today. Coumar Persad and Davon Webb admitted in October that they stole a portion of $170,000 that they found in a passenger’s bag. Persad noticed the money as it went through the X-ray machine and told Webb to mark it with tape to identify before it was put onto the American Airlines flight to Buenos Aires. The money belonged to a 35-year-old woman who authorities were unable to contact in Argentina and feared she was killed because of the misplaced money, according to sources from an initial report. Lawyers for 9/11 ‘20th hijacker’ Mohammed Al-Qahtani sue to release Gitmo torture tapes
Lawyers for the man known as the “20th hijacker” of 9/11 are suing the U.S. government to release “sickening” videotapes they say show Guantanamo Bay interrogators torturing their client. The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan Federal Court on Monday by the Center for Constitutional Rights, said Mohammed Al-Qahtani was a victim “of torture and other profoundly cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment.” “The American public should now be permitted to see what occurred for itself,” the lawsuit said. Between 2002 and 2003, Al-Qahtani suffered through marathon interrogation sessions and was subjected to severe temperatures, sleep deprivation and other “sexual and moral” humiliations, the suit said. Hunt on for Ian Burnet of Virginia after he vanishes during visit to New York City
Police and family members are searching for a Virginia man who vanished during a visit to New York City. Ian Burnet, 22, has not been heard from since about 4 p.m. on Dec. 30 when he texted his female college roommate.
