Subway Changes

The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.

These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, Jan. 4. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.

Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:

Split Service On L Line Weekdays

L train service will operate in two sections-between Eighth Avenue and Broadway Junction and between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway-on Tuesday, Jan. 10, and Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 10:15 a.m. until 3:05 p.m. Riders can transfer between L trains at Broadway Junction to continue their trip.

It was noted that L trains between Rockaway Parkway and Broadway Junction will operate every 24 minutes. Riders are advised to plan their trips accordingly.

7 Train Skips Stops Heading To Manhattan

Manhattan-bound 7 trains will skip the 111th Street, 103rd Street, 90th Street and 82nd Street stations on Thursday, Jan. 5, and Friday, Jan. 6, from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or 74th Street, then transfer to a Flushing bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train.

Weekday Express On J Line In Brooklyn

Jamaica Center-bound J trains will operate express service between Myrtle Avenue and Broadway Junction on Thursday, Jan. 5, Friday, Jan. 6, and Wednesday, Jan. 11, through Friday, Jan. 13, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. This service change will also be in effect this weekend between 4 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, until 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8.

For service to the Kosciuszko Street, Gates Avenue, Halsey Street and Chauncey Street stations, take the J train to Broadway Junction, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound J train.

Late Night Switches On E And M Lines

E and M trains will be rerouted between Queens and Manhattan weeknights on Thursday, Jan. 5, and Friday, Jan. 6, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.; and this weekend from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, until 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9.

Between 10 p.m. and midnight, Manhattan-bound E trains will run on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and West Fourth Street, then resume normal service to the World Trade Center. At the same time, Jamaica Center-bound E trains will run on the F line between West Fourth Street and 21st Street-Queensbridge, then resume normal service to Parsons/ Archer.

Then from 12:01 until 5 a.m., Manhattan-bound E trains will run on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and Second Avenue in Manhattan, where service will terminate. Jamaica Center-bound E trains will originate on the F line at Second Avenue in Manhattan and run on the route to 21st Street-Queensbridge before switching onto the E line for normal service to Parsons/Archer.

Furthermore, M trains will run on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and 47th-50th Streets on Thursday, Jan. 5, from 10 p.m. until midnight. M trains do not serve these stations on weekends; they will operate on their normal shuttle line between Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue-Broadway.

For service to the Court Square- 23rd Street and Queens Plaza stations, transfer to the 7 or R trains at Roosevelt Avenue.

Overnight Express On E Line In Qns.

Manhattan-bound E trains will run express service between 71st-Continental Avenues and Roosevelt Avenue late night on Monday, Jan. 9, through Friday, Jan. 13, from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.

For service to the 67th Avenue, 63rd Drive, Woodhaven Boulevard, Grand Avenue and Elmhurst Avenue stations, take the E train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train. For service from these stations, take the E train to 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E train.

F Train Runs Local Bet. F.H., Elmhurst

Manhattan-bound F trains will operate local service between 71st-Continental Avenues and Roosevelt Avenue late nights on Friday, Jan. 6, from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. and Saturday, Jan. 7, from 12:01 until 5:30 a.m. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.

E, F Trains Skip Late Stops In F.H., Jamaica

Manhattan-bound E and F trains will skip the Van Wyck Boulevard and 75th Avenue stations on Tuesday, Jan. 10, through Thursday, Jan. 12, from 12:01 until 5 a.m. Manhattan-bound F trains will additionally skip the Sutphin Boulevard station during this time.

For service to these stations, take the E or F train to Union Turnpike or 71st-Continental Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train or a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from these stations, take the E train to Union Turnpike or Jamaica-Van Wyck, or the F train to Union Turnpike or Parsons Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E or F train.

No Weekend A Trains Run To Far Rockaway

There will be no A train service between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway this weekend, from 11 p.m. Friday night, Jan. 6, until 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9. This service change will also be in effect the following weekend, Jan. 13-16.

During this disruption, A trains will replace the Rockaway Park shuttle and operate between Broad Channel and Rockaway Park. Shuttle buses will make all stops on the A line between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway (Mott Avenue, Beach 25th Street, Beach 36th Street, Beach 44th Street, Beach 60th Street, Beach 67th Street and Beach 90th Street).

Riders can transfer between the A train and the shuttle bus at Beach 90th Street.

N Trains Skip Stops In Astoria Weekdays

Astoria-bound N trains will skip the 39th Avenue, 36th Avenue, Broadway and 30th Avenue stations on Monday, Jan. 9, through Friday, Jan. 13, from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. It was noted that during this service change, Q trains will not operate between 57th Street-Seventh Avenue in Manhattan and Ditmars Boulevard in Astoria.

For service to the skipped stations, take the N train to Astoria Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound N train. For service from these stations, take the N train to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to an Astoria-bound N train.

Express Bus Changes At Rockefeller Center

Due to holiday festivities at Rockefeller Center, the QM1, QM5, QM6, QM10, QM12, QM15, QM16, QM17 and QM18 express bus lines will not stop along Fifth Avenue between 49th and 50th Streets or on Sixth Avenue between 49th and 50th streets through Saturday, Jan. 7.

Riders using the QM1, QM5 or QM6 lines should use the bus stop at Sixth Avenue and 48th Street. Customers riding the QM10 or QM12 lines should use the bus stop at Sixth Avenue and 51st Street. Finally, riders using the QM15, QM16, QM17 or QM18 buses should use the stop on Sixth Avenue and 48th Street.
