Community Board 2’s Patrick O’Brien received multiple honors for spearheading the community’s crusade against a proposed strip club on the south side of Queens Plaza. In the photo on top, he is shown receiving an award from 108th Precinct Community Council Vice President Patricia Dorfman at the council’s Tuesday, Jan. 31 at Sunnyside Community Services. Two days later at the same venue, at Board 2’s monthly meeting, O’Brien would receive proclamations from Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan (at left in photo on bottom) and City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer (at center). O’Brien also received kudos from Board 2 Chairperson Joseph Conley (second from left) and State Sen. Michael Gianaris. O’Brien’s daughter Kate (not shown) also received official citations for her research assistance.
