Ejected After Sedan Slams Into Pole

A 41-year-old man was killed after the car he was driving collided with a pole along a roadway on the Ozone Park/Lindenwood border early on Sunday morning, Feb. 12, according to police.

Law enforcement sources identified the victim as Darren Green of 102nd Avenue in South Jamaica.

Reportedly, the one-car crash occurred at around 4:05 a.m. Sunday along South Conduit Avenue near Linden Boulevard.

According to information obtained by police, Green was behind the wheel of a 2006 white Lincoln Town Car traveling eastbound on South Conduit Avenue at a high rate of speed.

Reportedly, the vehicle suddenly lost control and slammed into a utility pole. The impact of the collision caused Green to be thrown from the sedan, police said.

Members of the 106th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The victim was brought by paramedics to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

No criminality is suspected in the incident, law enforcement sources noted.

The case has been presented to the NYPD Accident Investigation Squad for a full inquiry, police said.
