A Brooklyn man attacked his extended family with a knife Wednesday morning in South Jamaica, according to police, cutting his 1-year-old niece before fatally stabbing his brother, who was planning to be married next week.

Gideon Forde, 33, allegedly broke down the back door to his brother’s house near 148th Street and Foch Boulevard around 7:15 a.m. and grabbed a kitchen knife, according to Joann Forde, the fiancée of Clinton Forde, who was killed.

Joann Forde’s son, 9-year-old Isaiah, was sitting downstairs waiting for the school bus when his uncle grabbed him by the jacket and tried to cut him with the knife, she said.

Isaiah kicked his uncle and yelled for his father, and Gideon Forde ran upstairs, at one point cutting Ashley, 1, in the neck with the knife, Joann Forde said.

As a result of the commotion, Clinton Forde, 29, jumped out of bed and began wrestling with his brother at the top of the stairs, she said, and Gideon Forde ended up stabbing him in the ribs, she said.

“He was trying to get him from coming upstairs to get me and the kids,” she said. The couple had six children together.

Police responded to the scene a few minutes later and attempted to subdue Gideon Forde, who resisted arrest and was pepper sprayed, Joann Forde said.

He was charged with murder, manslaughter, burglary, criminal possession of a weapon, violating an order of protection and resisting arrest, according to the NYPD.

Clinton Forde was put into an ambulance and taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Joann Forde said that Gideon Forde may have been high on drugs at the time.

She and Clinton Forde were set to be married Feb. 8.

“My husband did the right thing,” she said. “He said nobody was going to hurt us.”
