The New York Elmhurst Friendly Society recently donated over $1,500 to the Queens Borough Public Library for its Elmhurst branch, which is currently closed for reconstruction. As shown, Lester Fong (at left), president of the group, presented the donation to Peter Wayne (at right), associate director of the Queens Library Foundation and Yasha Hu, manager of the Elmhurst library. Fong also serves as president of the Friends of the Elmhurst Library. According to Queens Library, the donation will be used to purchase books and other library materials.
