Several firefighters were injured while battling a three-alarm blaze that gutted three homes on the Maspeth/Woodside border on Tuesday night, Mar. 27, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the inferno broke out at around 8 p.m. in the vicinity of Maurice Avenue and 65th Place. More than 30 Fire Department units responded to the scene along with the 104th and 108th precincts and EMS units. Three firefighters were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. No residents were reportedly injured. Six hose lines and one tower ladder were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
