Police looking for Queens bank robbery suspect

109th Precinct

Downtown Flushing, East Flushing, Queensboro Hill, College Point, Malba, Whitestone, Beechhurst and Bay Terrace

Police are on the lookout for a man they say may be responsible for bank robberies in two different boroughs. According to a police source, at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, the perp entered the Capital One branch at the corner of Sanford Avenue and Main Street. He passed a note demanding cash that read, “Hurry up” and “No dye packs.” The teller complied and handed him an envelope with five $50 bills; he fled in an unknown direction. Cops canvassing the area found an exploded red dye pack on 153rd Street and Sanford Avenue.

The source says the suspect, described as a male Asian, 5’10”, 140 to 150 pounds, in his late 20s or early 30s wearing a black sweatshirt, black hat and black sunglasses, may be responsible for an earlier bank robbery on Delancey Street in Manhattan.
