City Council Member Daniel Dromm recently held a toiletry drive for homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youths at the Metropolitan Community Church of New York (MCCNY). As noted, the legislator collected the items at his Jackson Heights office and delivered them to Sylvia’s Place in Manhattan last Wednesday, Mar. 7. Sylvia’s Place is an emergency shelter which serves over 1,000 homeless LGBT youths every year. Dromm (second from left) is pictured along with (from left to right) Sebastian Maguire, his legislative director; Rev. Pat Bumgardner; William Moran-Berberena, MCCNY Charities executive director; and Frances Wood, administrator for MCCNY Charities.
