A woman was seriously injured after a one-alarm fire broke out inside her apartment at the Big Six complex in Woodside last Thursday, Mar. 8, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the fire ignited at around 10 p.m. on the fourth-floor of an 18-story apartment house located on 61st Street near Queens Boulevard. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 292, 325, 307, 287 and 259; Squad companies 288 and 270; Ladder companies 163, 154, 128, 116 and 115; Rescue 4 and Battalions 46, 45, 49 and 28-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 108th Precinct and EMS units. The woman was transported by paramedics to New York Burn Center in serious condition with numerous burns. A dog found in her home was pulled by firefighters and treated for minor smoke inhalation.
