City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer (at podium) was joined by parents and children of the Big Six Towers on Thursday morning, Mar. 8 to protest the Department of Education’s decision to deny a hazard variance for P.S. 229 students that will not allow them to take school buses to class (as reported in last week’s issue). Joining Van Bramer (to the left of the lawmaker) is parent Tom Haggerty, whose son Tommy attends P.S. 229.
