SOUTH JAMAICA — Instead of a routine traffic stop, NYPD officers found a cache of weapons earlier this month, police said.

On April 11 at around 5:15 p.m., detectives from Queens Narcotics attempted to pull over a 2009 Dodge Avenger sedan with three men inside near Baisley Pond Park, according to the NYPD.

But instead of complying, the driver sped up and attempted to flee northbound on 149th Road, police said, eventually smashing into an unoccupied minivan parked at 116-41 149 St.

The three men leapt out of the car and attempted to flee on foot, but they left behind a fully loaded assault rifle and two loaded handguns, according to the NYPD.

Police said that James Graham, 27, of Brooklyn was nabbed and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and fleeing police officers in a vehicle.
