M Shuttle Service Shut This Weekend
M train shuttle service will be suspended between Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue-Broadway this holiday weekend from 4 a.m. Saturday, May 26, until 10 p.m. Sunday, May 28.
Free shuttle buses will replace M train service between the two stations, making all local stops. Riders can transfer between the shuttle buses and the L train at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues or the J train at Myrtle Avenue- Broadway.
The shuttle buses will stop at the M train stations as follows:
– Metropolitan Avenue-at the Q54 bus stop on Metropolitan Avenue at Rentar Plaza;
– Fresh Pond Road-at the B20 bus stop on Putnam Avenue at Fresh Pond Road (to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Fresh Pond Road at Putnam Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);
– Forest Avenue-at the B20 bus stop on Putnam Avenue at Fairview Avenue (to Myrtle Avenue-Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Fairview Avenue at Putnam Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);
– Seneca Avenue-at B38 bus stops on Seneca Avenue at Palmetto Street;
– Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues-at the B13 bus stop on Gates Avenue at Wyckoff Avenue (to Myrtle Avenue- Broadway) or the Q58 bus stop on Palmetto Street at Myrtle Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue);
– Knickerbocker Avenue-at B54 bus stops on Myrtle Avenue at Knickerbocker Avenue;
– Central Avenue-on Myrtle Avenue at Cedar Street (to Myrtle Avenue Broadway) or the B54 bus stop on Myrtle Avenue at DeKalb Avenue (to Metropolitan Avenue); and
– Myrtle Avenue-Broadway-at the B46 bus stop on Broadway at Myrtle Avenue.
Sunday Service On Memorial Day
All MTA New York City Transit buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28. Subway riders are reminded that J trains will operate between Jamaica Center and Chambers Street (Z trains will not operate) and the M train will run normal weekend shuttle service between Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue-Broadway.
Riders are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
Extra LIRR Trains For Holiday Getaway
The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) will offer additional early-afternoon train service out of Penn Station tomorrow, Friday, May 25, for customers planning an early start to the Memorial Day weekend.
Among some of the extra eastbound trains are the following:
– a 1:43 p.m. train and a 3:58 p.m. train to Jamaica which will make connections to Montauk-bound trains;
– a 2:08 p.m. train on the Port Jefferson branch stopping at Jamaica and Mineola, then all stops to Huntington;
– a 2:29 p.m. train on the Port Jefferson branch stopping at Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Jamaica and New Hyde Park, then all stops to Huntington;
– a 3 p.m. train on the Babylon branch stopping at Jamaica and Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon;
– a 3:24 p.m. train on the Port Jefferson branch stopping at Jamaica, Mineola, Westbury and Hicksville; and
– a 3:40 p.m. train on the Port Washington branch stopping at Woodside and Flushing-Main Street, then all stops to Great Neck.
The LIRR will operate on a Sunday schedule on Memorial Day Monday.
Special Sat. Train To Nat’l. Cemetery
Additionally, the LIRR will offer a special escorted package trip to Calverton National Cemetery on Saturday, May 26, for those wishing to visit the gravesite of a friend or family member.
The package includes discounted round-trip rail fare from Penn Station, Woodside, Atlantic Terminal or Jamaica and air-conditioned motor coach bus transportation to the cemetery. On the way to Calverton Na- tional Cemetery, the bus will make a stop for those wishing to purchase flowers or refreshments.
Shuttle bus service within Calverton National Cemetery will be provided to accommodate visitors to various sections and gravesites. Customers are advised to provide their own lunch, as eating facilities are not available at the cemetery.
The train departs Penn Station at 9:15 a.m. and Jamaica at 9:38 a.m.; passengers from Woodside should board the 9:27 a.m. train and Atlantic Terminal customers should board the 9:11 a.m. train and transfer at Jamaica to the Ronkonkoma train. Passengers for Calverton should board the rear car of the train.
Customers will transfer to bus service at the Central Islip station and will continue to Calverton. Return service will be on the 3:40 p.m. train from Ronkonkoma, stopping at Jamaica (4:37 p.m.), Woodside 4:48 p.m.) and Penn Station (4:59 p.m.). Connecting service is available at Jamaica to Atlantic Terminal.
Tickets must be purchased in advance at the Penn Station, Atlantic Terminal, Woodside and Jamaica at least 30 minutes before the scheduled train departure.

Subway Changes
The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.
These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, May 23. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.
Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:
Early Morning Svc. Split On 7 Train
Service on the 7 line will operate in two sections-between Main Street-Flushing and Mets-Willets Point and between Mets-Willets Point and Times Square-42nd Street-early on Sunday and Monday morning, May 27 and 28, from 12:01 until 5 a.m. Riders can transfer between 7 trains at Mets-Willets Point to continue their trip.
Additionally, Flushing-bound 7 trains will skip the 82nd Street, 90th Street, 103rd Street and 111th Street stations on Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Friday, June 1.
For service to these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or Mets-Willets Point, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound 7 train. For service from these stations, take the 7 train to Junction Boulevard or 74th Street, then transfer to a Flushing-bound 7 train.
During this time period, it was noted that all trains at the Junction Boulevard station will board at the Manhattan-bound platform.
Bklyn. Stops Skipped On J Train To Man.
Manhattan-bound J trains will skip the Flushing Avenue, Lorimer Street and Hewes Street stations this holiday weekend, from 4 a.m. Saturday, May 26, until 10 p.m. Monday, May 28.
For service to these stations, take the J train to Marcy Avenue (with an unlimited MetroCard only) or Essex Street, then transfer to a Jamaicabound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattanbound J train.
E Trains Switch Lines During Overnights
E trains will run on the F line in both directions between 36th Street in Queens and West Fourth Street in Manhattan late nights on Thursday, May 24, and Friday, May 25, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
During this period, Jamaica Center bound E trains will resume their regular route following 21st Street- Queensbridge, while World Trade Center/Manhattan-bound E trains will resume their normal route after West Fourth Street.
It was also noted that M trains will operate on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and 47th-50th Streets in Manhattan on Thursday from 10 p.m. until midnight. Forest Hillsbound M trains will run regular service after 36th Street, while Middle Village-bound M trains will resume regular service after 47th-50th Streets.
For service to the Queens Plaza or the Court Square-23rd Street stations, transfer to the 7 train at 74th Street- Roosevelt Avenue or the Fifth Avenue/ 42nd Street-Bryant Park stations.
E, F Trains In Qns. Skip Some Stations
Manhattan-bound E and F trains will also skip the Van Wyck Boulevard station on Friday, May 25, from 12:01 until 5 a.m. During this time period, Manhattan-bound F trains will also skip the Sutphin Boulevard and 75th Avenue stations.
For service to these stations, take the E or F train to Union Turnpike or 71st-Continental Avenues, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound E train or a Jamaica-bound F train. For service from these stations, take the E train to Jamaica-Van Wyck or the F train to Parsons Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound E or F train.
Weekend Switch Of Lines For F Trains
Jamaica-bound F trains will run on the M line between 47th-50th Streets and Roosevelt Avenue this holiday weekend, from 10 p.m. Friday, May 25, until 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 29. These trains will run express service between Roosevelt Avenue and Queens Plaza.
As a result, there will be no Jamaica bound F train service to the 21st Street-Queensbridge, Roosevelt Island, Lexington Avenue-63rd Street and 57th Street stations.
For service to these stations, take the F train to Roosevelt Avenue, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound F train. For service from these stations, take the F train to 47th-50th Streets, then transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train.
It was also noted that Jamaicabound F trains will operate local service between 21st Street-Queensbridge and Roosevelt Avenue on Thursday, May 24, and Friday, May 25, from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m.; and on Wednesday, May 30, through Friday, June 1, from 12:30 until 5 a.m. Riders are advised to allow for additional travel time.
Late Night Service Split On The G Line
G train service will operate in two sections-between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and Church Avenue-late nights on Tuesday, May 29, through Friday, June 1, from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Riders can transfer between G trains at Bedford-Nostrand Avenues to continue their trip.
It was noted that all trains running between Court Square and Bedford- Nostrand Avenues will operate every 30 minutes. Riders are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
Some L Trains Make Final Stop At Myrtle
The last stop for select Rockaway Parkway-bound L trains will be Myrtle Wyckoff Avenues on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Friday, May 25. Riders can transfer between L trains at Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues to continue their trip.
It was noted that L train service between Rockaway Parkway and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues will operate every 12 minutes. Riders are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
Split Service On A Train On Weekdays
A train service will operate in two sections-between 207th Street and Lefferts Boulevard and between Rockaway Boulevard and Far Rockaway- on weekdays, Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. through June 15. Riders can transfer between A trains at Rockaway Boulevard to continue their trip.
It was noted that all A trains running between Rockaway Boulevard and Far Rockaway will run every 20 minutes. Commuters are advised to allow for additional travel time.
