Two of the six priests who were ordained by Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio last Saturday, June 23, offered their first liturgies at churches in Ridgewood the following day. As shown in the left photo, Fr. Stephen Saffron celebrated the 11:30 a.m. Mass at St. Matthias Church, where he previously served as a deacon. The New Jersey-native graduated from Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall in New Jersey and was assigned to serve in the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens last year prior to his ordination. In the right photo is Fr. Sean Suckiel, a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, who had the honor of celebrating a Mass of Thanksgiving at his home church at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
