Glendale Plaza Plans on Display at Cb 5 Hearing

The proposed creation of a pedestrian plaza adjacent to the Glendale Memorial Triangle will be the focus of a meeting scheduled to be held by Community Board 5′s Transportation Services Committee next Thursday night, June 28, in Glendale.

As announced by District Manager Gary Giordano, the session will take place at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of Redeemer Lutheran School, located at 69-26 Cooper Ave. (enter on 69th Place through Door #3).

Representatives of the Department of Transportation (DOT) are scheduled to present amended plans for the creation of the new public plaza along 70th Street between Cooper and Myrtle avenues. Committee members are expected to develop recommendations related to the proposed project.

Additionally, the Transportation Committee is expected to discuss a proposed pedestrian plaza for the intersection of Myrtle and 71st avenues and Stephen Street in Ridgewood. A public workshop on the project is expected to take place in September.
