Killed In South Ozone Park Crash

A 39-year-old man was killed early last Friday morning, June 1, when the motorcycle he was riding lost control and struck a sedan at a South Ozone Park intersection, according to police.

The motorcyclist’s identity was not disclosed by the NYPD.

Reportedly, the crash took place at around 12:30 a.m. last Friday at the corner of Lefferts and Rockaway boulevards.

According to information obtained by police, the 39-year-old man was riding his Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle southbound on Lefferts Boulevard when he suddenly lost control of his ride, which then collided with a 2001 Nissan Altima traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the car, a 22-yearold man, remained at the scene following the accident, authorities noted.

Members of the 106th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival from injuries which included severe body trauma.

No criminality is suspected in the case, and no charges have been filed against the sedan’s driver, authorities noted.

The NYPD Accident Investigation Squad is conducting an ongoing inquiry, police said.
