Old Glory was celebrated in style at the Sunnyside Flag Day Parade held along Greenpoint Avenue last Saturday afternoon, June 9. Sponsored by the Lions Club of Sunnyside and Woodside, numerous community groups, schools and marching bands participating in the procession celebrating Flag Day, which is observed today, Thursday, June 14. The parade concluded with a memorial service for veterans at the monument in Joe Sabba Park, located at the corner of Queens Boulevard and 50th Street.
