ASTORIA — Police were asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted rape in Astoria July 13.
According to cops, the 20-year-old victim exited a livery cab and entered the vestibule of her apartment building near 30th Street and 34th Avenue.
Police said the driver of the cab followed her into the building, grabbed her from behind and attempted to rape her, but the victim struggled and was able to break free.
The suspect, described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 25 years old, standing at 5-foot-4 and weighing 150 pounds, was last seen wearing a black shirt with dark pants and frameless eyeglasses.
Cops said his vehicle is described as a light-colored Lincoln Town Car.
