Cops Seek Clues In Murder Case

Detectives are looking for answers regarding the mysterious stabbing of a 21-year-old Cypress Hills man who was brought privately to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and later died from his injuries, police said.

Law enforcement sources identified the victim as Michael Aponte of Fulton Street.

According to authorities, Aponte was brought to Wyckoff Heights Hospital, located at the corner of DeKalb Avenue and Stockholm Street, by an unidentified man at around 2 a.m. last Saturday.

Police said the man left the hospital moments later in a Nissan Maxima sedan.

The victim was reportedly admitted to the Emergency Department for treatment of stab wounds to his right shoulder and torso. Members of the 83rd Precinct were called to the hospital to investigate.

Aponte succumbed to his injuries at around 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning, police said.

As of press time, authorities said, the circumstances surrounding Aponte’s stabbing-as well as the location where he was assaulted-re- main unknown and under investigation.

The 83rd Precinct Detective Squad is conducting the inquiry, police said.
