Assemblyman Mike Miller and the Department of Sanitation are encouraging businesses on Myrtle Avenue in Glendale to help keep public waste baskets tidy through the “Adopt-a-Basket” program. As announced, participating groups or merchants will agree to monitor a public trash bin in front of their location to help prevent the overflow of garbage, including removing full bags and replacing them with new ones. Miller is shown at center along with Sam Sarsia of Benny’s Deli (at left), one of the program participants, and Iggy Terranova of the Sanitation Department. Those interested in participating in the Adopt-a-Basket program can call Miller’s office at 1-718-805-0950 for more information.
