Flames scorched part of a Bushwick church during a one-alarm fire early last Friday morning, July 27, FDNY sources said. Reportedly, the blaze ignited at around 3:15 a.m. on the second floor of the Iglesia Pentecostal Arca Cristiana located at 1159 Halsey St. near Central Avenue. Among the units that responded to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Squad companies 252 and 1; Engine companies 233, 277, 222 and 218; Ladder companies 176, 112, 124 and 120; Rescue 2 and Battalions 37 and 28-under the direction of Division 15-along with the 83rd Precinct and EMS units. No injuries were reported. Two hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
