KEW GARDENS — The NYPD was seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery pattern in western Queens.
In three separate incidents from July through August, the suspect entered bank branches and allegedly handed tellers a note demanding money, cops said.
On July 17, the suspect entered the Amalgamated Bank, at 78-01 37th Ave. in Jackson Heights, around 3 p.m. and allegedly handed the teller a demand note before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, cops said.
On Aug. 10, he tried the same thing at the Chase Bank, at 74-03 Metropolitan Ave. in Middle Village, just before 6 p.m., though he ended up leaving empty handed, cops said.
He was successful once again Aug. 20, police said, when he entered the HSBC Bank, at 22-15 43rd Ave. in Long Island City, around 2 p.m., again allegedly making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police described the suspect as a black man in his 30s standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds.
On Aug. 20, he was wearing a white striped shirt, jeans, sunglasses and a blue baseball cap, police said.
