Three people were injured after a one-alarm blaze broke out on the top floor of a residence in the Brooklyn section of Ridgewood last Tuesday night, Aug. 14, it was reported. Fire Department sources said the fire started at around 6:20 p.m. at a two-story dwelling in the vicinity of Madison Street and Ridgewood Place. Among the units that responded to the scene (listed in the order of their arrival) were Engine companies 277, 222 and 233; Squad companies 252 and 288; Ladder companies 124, 112, 176, 140 and 123; Rescue 1 and Battalions 28 and 37-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 83rd Precinct and EMS units. The victims were brought to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation, which was not considered life-threatening. Firefighters reportedly used two hose lines to bring the fire under control.
