For the rest of the summer, one lane will be closed in each direction most Saturdays on the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge for work related to the $17 million project to rehabilitate the concrete piers beneath the bridge.
The closures will take place between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. and continue through November. One lane in each direction had previously been closed on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and this will continue through November as well.
The entire project, which includes repairing damaged concrete and shoring up materials that protect the bridge, is expected to be completed in November 2013.
