Armed Robbery Is Unlucky End to a Night at Casino

Pair Held Up In Resorts World Garage

While on their way out of the Resorts World New York casino, a pair of patrons were reportedly held up at gunpoint by a crook inside a parking garage at the South Ozone Park gaming facility early on Sunday morning, Sept. 15.

Police said the suspect behind the stickup, described as an African- American male standing 6′-tall and weighing 180 lbs., remains at large as of press time.

According to law enforcement sources, the robbery occurred at around 4:20 a.m. Sunday in the parking garage of the casino located within the Aqueduct Racetrack site at 110-00 Rockaway Blvd.

Reportedly, the two male victims were walking toward their car when they were approached by the bandit. Police said the crook pulled out a small firearm, pointed it at the pair and demanded money.

After obtaining an undisclosed sum of cash from the two men, authorities noted, the suspect fled from the location in an unknown direction.

Members of the 106th Precinct responded to the scene. It was determined that no shots were fired during the robbery and neither victim was injured.

Despite a search of the surrounding area for the suspect, law enforcement sources noted, no immediate arrests were made.

The bandit was reportedly last seen wearing a white sweater with a black and orange diamond pattern, blue jeans and a black cap.

The case was presented to the 106th Precinct Detective Squad for further investigation, police said.
