Though no residents were injured, a cat reportedly died during a one-alarm fire at a Greenpoint apartment house last Saturday, Sept. 1. Fire Department sources said the blaze broke out at around 9:30 a.m. on the second floor of a three-story dwelling in the vicinity of Nassau and Kingsland avenues. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 229, 238, 206 and 259; Ladder companies 146, 106 and 128; Squad Co. 252; Rescue 2 and Battalions 45 and 35-under the direction of Division 11-along with the 94th Precinct and EMS units. Two hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, according to FDNY sources.
