Firefighters rushed to put out flames at a commercial building in Long Island City on Sunday morning, Sept. 2. According to Fire Department sources, the one-alarm blaze ignited at around 9:40 a.m. on the first-floor of a building located in the vicinity of 21st Street and 43rd Avenue. Among the units which responded to the scene (listed in numerical order) were Engine companies 238, 258, 259 and 260; Ladder companies 115, 116 and 128; Squad Co. 288; Rescue 4 and Battalions 45 and 49-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 108th Precinct and EMS units. No injuries were reported.
