Help secure their ‘Futures in Education’

Futures in Education is set to hold its annual scholarship fund dinner, this year honoring William J. Hogan, Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Sales at NetApp, and Chris Mullin, former St. John’s and NBA star and Naismith Hall of Famer.

“We’re very much looking forward to the dinner, right now it looks like we’re going to be successful,” said Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello, Director of the Office of Parish Giving and Vicar for Development.

“Every donation counts,” he added.

The organization’s goal for this year’s dinner is to raise $2 million in tuition assistance for more than 2,000 students in need in the Diocese of Brooklyn, up from the $1.6 million raised last year. All donations received will be partially matched by the Children’s Scholarship Fund.

The event will be held on Tuesday, October 2 at the Waldorf Astoria, 301 Park Avenue in Manhattan. Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7:30 p.m.

“I see the need and feel the need to help these children get a good Catholic education, the same Catholic education that I was given, and to give the same opportunity to kids who are in need,” said Gigantiello.
