Firefighters quickly responded to a one-alarm fire at a Woodhaven building just after sunrise on Monday morning, Sept. 17, it was reported. According to FDNY sources, the blaze ignited at around 6:15 a.m. at the corner of 87th Street and 89th Avenue, just down the block from the headquarters of Engine Co. 293. Members of the company responded to the scene along with (as listed in the order of their arrival) Engine companies 294, 285, 236 and 332; Ladder companies 143, 142, 175 and 107; Squad Co. 270; Rescue 4 and Battalions 39 and 51-under the direction of Division 13-along with the 102nd Precinct and EMS units. There were no reported injuries. Three hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
