Bwg Has Cup Dreams

Strong Starts For Squads In Quest For Trophies

After two wins and one tie in the very competitive Brooklyn Italian Columbus Cup tournament and narrowly missing the playoffs, the Gottschee U11 Blue kept both the NY State Cup and NY Cup titles in sight.

The Blau Weiss Gottschee U11 Blue team.

BW Gottschee took on Harrison Fire this past Saturday in the NY State Cup, defeating them 1-0 and advanced to the quarterfinals which will take place next May. On Sunday, Gottschee U11 Blue took on the Ramapo Tornados and defeated them 10-0 in upstate Suffern. The team has been competitive in all their matches and are looking forward to CJSL league play where games have been re-scheduled a bit to make room for the Cup games.

The Blau Weiss Gottschee U8 Blue team is showing consistent solid performances this year, including their last win against the Brooklyn Patriots, 9-0 in Brooklyn. Hat tricks from Darius Redzematovic and Ado Seina, plus goals from Ryan Wiseman, Liam Molloy and Oliverio Bosi, paced Gottschee.

The Gottschee 2000 Pre-Academy team is showing great deal of improvement. After a shaky start the team won two games over the weekend: 2-1 against New Rochelle SC, with goals scored by Adem Vucetovic and Rafael Son; and 2-1 against FC Westchester, with goals scored by Gerrard Rodman and Ervin Derivasevic.
