The Queens Pride House celebrated its 15th anniversary with a benefit event held on Sept. 27 at Novo in Jackson Heights. As noted, the event not only raised funds for its support services to individuals in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities, but also recognized individuals for their work with the Pride House in recent years. The honorees included Selena Blake, a documentarian; Ross Levi of Empire State Development, Rev. Charles McCarron, first executive director of Queens Pride House, Daniel Cano, a Pride House volunteer, and Voces Latinos. Pictured in the left photo are (from left to right) Raphael Miranda of WNBC-TV, who served as master of ceremonies; Dr. René Gilberto Vázquez del Valle, director of clinical programs at Queens Pride House; former City Comptroller William Thompson; Pauline Park, president of the board of directors at Queens Pride House; Reverend McCarron; Blake; and Charles Ober, the Pride House treasurer. Shown in the right photo are (from left to right) Democratic District Leader Deirdre Feerick; Blake; Ober; Cano; Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan; Levi; City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley; Miranda; Evelyn Cruz of Rep.
