Nab Bushwick Man for Tire Shop Slay

Woodhaven Man Killed In Robbery Try

Nearly a year after a Woodhaven man was gunned down at a tire shop in Bushwick during a botched robbery, the suspect who allegedly pulled the trigger was apprehended by police last Thursday, Oct. 4, law enforcement sources said.

Police identified the perpetrator as 43-year-old Robert Reeves of Cornelia Street in Bushwick, who allegedly confessed to killing 58-year-old Carlos Rosario of 94th Street in Woodhaven during the holdup of the Bushwick Tire Shop at 1370 Bushwick Ave. on the morning of Nov. 20, 2011.

Reeves was reportedly arrested after confessing to the crime during questioning by members of the 83rd Precinct Detective Squad.

According to law enforcement sources, the shooting took place at around 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 20, 2011, when Reeves allegedly walked into the tire shop and asked Rosario for hubcaps.

When the victim asked the suspect to get his car, as reported in the Times Newsweekly, the suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired a shot which struck Rosario in the mouth.

Reeves allegedly fled from the scene in an unknown direction after pulling the trigger, it was reported.

Officers from the 83rd Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. Rosario was brought by paramedics to Interfaith Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Court records noted that Reeves was arraigned last Friday, Oct. 5, in Kings County Criminal Court before Judge Stephen Antignani, who ordered him held without bail.
