Queens Library receives $50 donation to rebuild after Sandy

Queens Library received a $50,000 donation from several Turkish-American organizations on Friday, including Turkish Cultural Center Queens, Helping Hands Relief Foundation and Kimse Yok Mu.

Damage costs at Queens Library branches are estimated around $7 million, with $2 million of that required to replace books and other materials, according to library officials. Major reconstruction efforts are underway, according to a statement from Queens Library.
