The NYPD has released the video of the suspect in Monday’s Midtown execution-style shooting that left a man dead.
Brandon Lincoln Woodard, 31, of Los Angeles, was killed around 2 p.m. yesterday when an unidentified man shot him from behind in the head at close range with one round from a silver semiautomatic handgun as both walked westbound on West 58th Street between Broadway and Seventh Avenue, near Columbus Circle, said police.
After shooting the victim, the gunman turned around and entered the front passenger seat of a parked vehicle, a late model Lincoln sedan that was possibly light gray or silver in color.
The car then drove off eastbound on West 58th Street and south on Seventh Avenue.
The released footage, which is from 10 minutes before the incident, shows the suspect exiting a car, then walking down the sidewalk and pulling the hood of his dark colored coat over his head.
Police describe the suspect as a black male who appears to be bald and may have a beard. He was also wearing khaki pants at the time of the shooting.
Also on Tuesday, police released new information about the weapon used in the shooting.
The same 9mm firearm was involved in a 2009 incident in southeast Queens.
On November 22 of that year, two men fired 12 rounds at a Saint Albans residence located at 189-11 Mangin Avenue. No one was hurt, but several windows, a door frame and siding were damaged. Police made no arrests in connection to that shooting.
