106th Precinct Cops of the Month

Police Officers Colin Dyer and Shawn Phillips were honored as the 106th Precinct’s Cops of the Month at the 106th Precinct Community Council’s Wednesday, Jan. 9 meeting in Ozone Park. According to Deputy Inspector Thomas Pascale, the precinct’s commander, Dyer and Phillips noticed a suspicious car at the corner of 103rd Street and Rockaway Boulevard at approximately 2 a.m. on New Years Day. The officers attempted to stop the car after an illegal u-turn but the driver did not stop immediately. After being blocked by a parked vehicle, the suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated. As the suspect was being handcuffed, the officers discovered the suspect had a loaded .45mm handgun in his possession.
