Riding the Fast Lane to His Death In Oz. Pk.

Man’s Car Slammed Into A Tree

A Far Rockaway man was killed last Saturday night, Jan. 19, when the car he was driving on an Ozone Park street lost control and crashed into a tree, it was reported.

Police identified the man as 61- year-old Winston Joseph of Grassmere Terrace.

Authorities said the deadly accident took place at around 10:10 p.m. last Saturday on South Conduit Avenue near Linden Boulevard.

Reportedly, Joseph was behind the wheel of a white Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on the avenue at a high rate of speed. No other individuals were inside the car, police noted.

According to information obtained by law enforcement sources, Joseph suddenly lost control of his vehicle, which veered off the roadway and slammed into a tree.

Members of the 106th Precinct along with EMS units and Fire Department personnel rushed to the location.

Joseph was removed from the damaged vehicle by first responders and taken by paramedics to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead later.

No criminality is suspected in the case, but an inquiry by the NYPD Accident Investigation Squad is ongoing, police said.
