RUDOLPH H. BOLD of Glendale
died on Sunday, February 10, at the
age of 74. He was the beloved father
of Diana, Christina, Eric and David
and is also survived by seven grandchildren. Bold was a civic leader and
a library director for Queens Library
between 1954 and 1995. He was educated at St. John’s University, Fordham Graduate School and Pratt
Institute Library School. Rudolph
was a contributor to the American Library Association, Library Journal
and other educational and environmental organizations. He also served
as a member of Community Board 5
between 1972 and 1975 and was
chairman of Mayor John Lindsay’s
Urban Task Force on Air and Water
Pollution. After retirement, he continued his passion for music as a concert pianist and wrote for various
periodicals. AMass of Christian Burial will be offered this morning,
Thursday, Feb. 14, at 9:30 a.m. at St.
Pancras Church, Glendale, followed
by interment at St. Charles Cemetery,
Farmingdale, L.I., under the direction
of Schwille Funeral Home,

JOSÉ C. CARBALLO died on Friday, February 8, at the age of 81. He
was the beloved husband of Maria
Carballo, loving father of José B.
Carballo, Meli Mayer and the late
Sandra Lago, father-in-law of Lynne,
Robert and Nazario, cherished grandfather of Kristin, Melissa, Marcel,
Christina, Michael, Matthew, Joseph
and Jenna and dearest uncle of
Nieves and José Luis. A Mass of
Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, February 12, at St. Mary’s
Church, Woodside, followed by entombment at St. Charles Cemetery

(nee MATUSZEWSKA) died on
Monday, February 4, at the age of 97.
Born in Maspeth, she was the wife of
the late Leon Marunowski, loving
mother of the late Jozef and Marcin
Marunowski, mother-in-law of Honorata and Krystyna, cherished grandmother of Adam Marunowski,
Katarzyna Stelmaszek, Anna Gherbi
M., Marzena Chrzanowska, Krysztof
Marunowski and Elzbieta Wojtowicz,
great-grandmother of Kinga, Jasiu,
Veronika, Adrian, Brian, Adam,
Karolina, Paulina, Ola and Claudia
and dear sister of Anna. She is also
survived by the extended Matuszewski and many dear friends. She
lived in Zabowo, Poland for over 60
years. A Mass of Christian Burial was
offered on Thursday, February 7, at
Holy Cross Church, Maspeth, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the
direction of Papavero Funeral Home,

EDWARD T. HERBERT of Ridgewood died on Sunday, February 3, at
the age of 57. A native of Brooklyn,
he was the devoted father of Brian
Herbert, dear brother of Mary Moncino and Ronald Herbert and loving
grandfather of Jacob Herbert. A Mass
of Christian Burial was offered at St.
Brigid Church, Brooklyn, followed
by interment at St. John Cemetery,

age of 98. A native of Oberweztenbach, Gottschee, Austria, she was the
