Stabbed To Death; Suspect In Custody
A resident of an East Williamsburg housing development was found last Friday, Feb. 1 in front of a nearby building with stab wounds that would eventually prove fatal, police sources stated.
At approximately 9 p.m. last Friday, officers responded to a 911 call of a male stabbed in front of 275 Jackson St., part of the Cooper Park Housing Development in East Williamsburg.
Upon arrival, members from the 94th Precinct reportedly found 39- year-old Anthony Dash, who lived on nearby Frost Street, with a stab wound to the left leg.
EMS personnel responded to the location and transported Dash to Woodhull Hospital in critical but stable condition. Two days later, however, Dash would be pronounced dead from his injuries.
On Tuesday, Feb. 5, the NYPD arrested 21-year-old Richie Vargas of Morgan Avenue for manslaughter, first-degree assault and weapons possession in connection with Dash’s death.
Police are still looking for a second suspect in the case.
